Dance Academy reject, Archie Corrigan, resents the stereotype guy ballet dancers are gay. Because he isn’t. At all. Forced to reassess his life goal at Camp Crystal Cove, it’s by sheer dumb luck he meets Landon Summers, who turns everything Archie was sure of into chaos.

Poor boy turned teen heartthrob, Landon Summers, is the name on everyone’s lips. With his unexpected leap to fame, his agent advises him to keep his bi status on the down low. Not a problem! Until Landon meets Archie.

Their unexpected friendship leads to an inevitable kiss, but their moment is caught in high definition and used as fuel for blackmail. If the truth gets out, Landon’s career could be over, and Archie will be forced to acknowledge the one thing he’s fought to deny.

But how do you go back to your average life once you’ve experienced That Feeling When ... you’re finally happy?

Landon Summers is into guys. I think he likes you.

And while Meredith didn’t say anything about me, there was something way too knowing in her look. Everyone else seems too into their own lives to be paying us any attention, and even when we’re announced winners of the trivia, my celebration doesn’t crack the surface chill that’s taken over me.

Meredith’s wrapped her arm through mine, and she’s cheering with the others, one hand

in the air.

I’m a week in the past. Watching Landon pull on that stupid costume in the dark. The spark in his eyes as he thanked me. The brush of his skin on mine.

How was that only a week ago?

Why can’t I go back and enjoy that moment more? Savor my time with him?

Really take it all in, before he went and messed it all up.

She nods to the side of the emptying hall and we make our way to a place out of earshot. “It’s all set up.”

My shoulders sag with relief. “No one will interrupt us?”

“The room is booked, the music is ready, and if anyone asks, I have no idea where you stole that—”

“Shh. Borrowed, not stole. They won’t miss it.”

“Yet. Just be on time, okay?”

“Promise. And Rosie …” I grab both her shoulders. “You’re the best. You know that right?”

She doesn’t look impressed with my compliment and I drop my hold.

“Landon … I have to ask. Is he really worth all this?”

“Yes. I mean, you’re being blackmailed. And instead of keeping your distance, you’re doing a super considerate … sweet thing.” Her voice drops to a whisper, eyebrows tilted in concern. “I know it’s easy to be swept up in the excitement of a new person, but I just want you to be careful. To really think about it. If it comes out you’re gay—”

“Bi. Calling me gay erases who I am.”

“Bi, sorry. Still, the point is the same. Jake Ekles’s claim that you came on to him is serious.” I scoff but she keeps going. “Even though he won’t take it further because he’s lying, it’s enough that people might be hesitant to work with you. If you come out, for real, people are going to assume he was telling the truth.”

I turn away from her, shaking my head at just how true her words are. I don’t want to agree though, I don’t want to plan my life around what might or might not happen.

“Maybe I don’t care?” I throw both hands out to the side and the words are a little more aggressive than I mean them to be.

Something seems to sink in because Rosie visibly relaxes. “You really like him, don’t you?” she asks, resigned.

For some reason I almost want to cry. “I do. I really, really do.”

She takes a deep breath, then forces a smile. “In that case, good luck, Landon. If Archie’s not knocked off his feet by this, I don’t know what else you can do.”

She’s right. Totally and completely right.

If this doesn’t win him over I’m all out of ideas.

The nerves are building fast and so much seems hinged on this moment.

“Shake it out, big guy,” Rosie smirks. “Archie’s about to fall madly in love with you.”
